Cruise Control Stopped Working!

Featured Replies

As the title suggests really! Today the cruise control just stopped working!

Any suggestions please? Is it something that can be looked at on Vag-Com?? VRStu???:)

This happened on mine as well.

If you have VAG COM then get the code that disables the cruise control and put it in. Then put the code in to re-activate it. Sounds daft I know but it worked on mine

I don't have vag-com, but hopefully someone near to me can sort me out.

Thanks for the advice mate.

Do your brake lights work ?????

I assume so. What does that have to do with the cruise control??

If your brake switch is knackered then the CC won't know when your braking.

Which in turn stop the CC from working as it can't tell when to release the gas.

?

Nope! No brake lights at all! I assume that this means I need a new brake switch? Any idea on cost? How difficult is it to replace?

Euro car parts about £7 piece of the proverbial to fit.

There a guide somewhere.

That was wrapped up nice quick wasn't it.:)

HA HA! Cheers mate. I have taken the switch out as I found a guide on here to repair it! Worth a go. I am going to try Eurocarparts and GSF tomorrow. Hopefully GSF will have them as they are very local!

repair guide worked for me, but only sorted the problem short term.

Dealers £7 as above.

Repair didn't work at all for me! The plunger bit seems to be stuck in the down position and therefore a new switch altogether is needed.

Lets hope someone has one tomorrow morning otherwise SWMBO will be using my car and that means that I can't go to Thorpe Park on Monday with my mates!!

I think most parts departments close at 12 on a Sat, so if you can't get one from Euro Car Parts, be quick going to Skoda! :P
