Hi, just purchased a 2004 Octavia Silverline with symphony radio cassette and 6 CD changer,

I have a problem with the stereo which means I can't fast forward through CD tracks or go forward through the radio stations. I can go backwards but the forward part of the 4 way switch does not work.

Also what is the SCN button supposed to do as when I press this nothing happens.

I don't have any audio instructions with the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot help with the first part of your post,but the SCN button and i quote"pressing this button briefly plays stations in radio mode or titles in cassette or CD mode" so a scan mode allowing you to press SCN on the radio staion/cd track you like.

Its weird as it looks like the buttons over that side of my radio dont work!!!!

"Go forward through the radio stations". I don't even understand the question! The numbered buttons are tuned presets, and as far as I can see the "search tune" function only increments frequency, like on every other car radio I've ever tuned.

I was refering to the 4 way switch on the right hand side of the radio, not the preset buttons.

If you press up or down on the 4 way switch you can go through the frequency in increments, if you press left of right you automatically go to the next station or if in CD mode then you can fast forward or rewind the track. Its that part of my radio that does not work, and also the SCN button.
