Works mondy vibration - tracking advice

Featured Replies

Works mondy has some vibrations and uneven wear on rear.

As I carry lots of parts etc round for my job, does loading the car have a bearing on getting the tracking/balancing done?

Should I empty the car, or leave it loaded?

if you carry loads of weight in the rear i would think the rear tyres will be pretty worn on the inner edge

no amount of tracking adjustment on the rear is going to stop this , as its the excess camber that occurs due to the weight in the rear which causes the wear

and yes empty the vehicle before having any alignment checks/adjustments

Anything that affects ride height will affect camber and castor angles. Whether it will affect toe angles depends on the precise juxtraposition of the wishbone(s) and the track rods. I'd think it probably will, but without accurate scale drawings, there's no way to be 100% certain.

I'll unload her then.

Keep telling bosses bout the amount of crap we carry 'just in case' and their effects on MPG and eating tyres, but no one seems to care.

So this service is gonna be expensive. Cambelt, pads and disks all round and new tyres - and not the cheap crap. Oh and checking the alignment/tracking/balancing

Anyone recommend some good, well priced (aka slightly expensive, without taking the p) I can insist Ford fit ? ;)

When it's someone else's money, Goodyears, no question.
