central locking prob (a different one to the rest)

Featured Replies

Hi all

I made the plunge and bought an 03 plate Superb elegance today.

Drove it home from Derby and it was great.

Only prob is the central locking. It only opens the drivers door despite the other knobs moving slightly but not releasing.

I've tried clicking the button twice but no joy. The only way to open them is to use the key in the lock or to press the button on the drivers door.

I did read the other posts about this but none of them mention that the motors whirring and the buttons "wiggling".

Any suggestions?

Do all the other doors + boot unlock automatically when you operate the switch on the driver's door trim? (It has a diagram of a car with the door open).

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the site, hope it works out for you :)

My buttons, er, "wiggle" when I unlock the drivers door with a single press. I think the reason for this is that the system disengages the dead locks.

However I think Roto's onto something, it sounds like you're not pressing the unlock button on the remote in the correct sequence. It's normally twice in reasonably quick sucession.

Pressing the unlock button as Roto describes above will confirm if it's in issue with the locking system itself or if it's the key pressing sequence or remote that's causing the problem.
