Fitting IC Waterspray kit

Featured Replies

I finally got round to fitting my intercooler water spray kit yesterday (or attempting to at least).

I managed to fit the new 5.5l washer fluid bottle, pump, hose and nozzle kit OK, the problem came when trying to do the wiring.

From Loukas' pictures on the Greek (well done BTW for revenge against Portugal:thumbup: ) website, I got stuck on running the cable from the interior to the engine bay. I attempted to take of the fascia panel above the pedals, which was held in place by a trim panel around the instrument panel, which was held in place by the top cover of the steering wheel column  - at which point I gave up!

So, can someone please enlighten me as to a) where does the normal wiring loom run through to the engine bay? and B) what do I have to remove (in as much detail as possible please) in order to get to it?

For all I know it could be going through from the passenger side and I could have been barking up the wrong tree

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Remove windscreen wipers

Remove panel underneath windscreen wipers (taking care not to stree washer hose)

Underneath is black "box" (driver's side)

Simon,

Thanks for your reply, is that where the ECU is housed?

If so, that answers the engine side, what about the cabin side?

Andy

Cabin side

1. Open fuse box cover

2. Remove the 2 star bolts

3. Remove the 5 or 6 other star bolts (they are 1 size smaller than the ones that hold in the fuse box.) To get at the final one you need to remove the light switch panel, there is one bolt hidden in there.

4. From the engine side, carefully push through a straightened coat hanger or other wire to allow you to pull through your wires. It's on the left hand side of the engine as you look under the bonnet., hidden uder the plastic trim that you had to take the wipers off to remove.

Sorry, ain't been up your way for a long time. Bit of a trek from Somerset. I'll try and post some piccies later.

Thanks Jon,

I think that's enough info. for me to complete it, it was the hidden star bolt that was throwing me - I'll have a look for it later.
