OEM Bluetooth and TomTom annomoly

Featured Replies

Right, I had something working today for a short time that was brilliant. I cant for the life of me replicate it though.

I have the OEM BT kit from Stu that I use with a SE C902 (which works seamlessly). I also use a TomTom 730 which the C902 is also paired.

I got in the car today and the BT kit paired with the phone as normal. Realising I needed to use the TT to get me where I was going I mounted that and powered on. I thought I wonder what will happen if I try to connect both at the same time.

I switched off powersave on the C902 (which enables more than 1 BT connection) and activated handsfree on the TomTom and connected to the C902.

The phone didnt disconnect from the car kit.

Here (finally, sorry for long post) is the best bit.

I could initiate a call through the TomTom in the normal way but the sound would come from the car kit, the maxidot would display the name, and the stream would show phone and the volume worked as usual.

At the same time if I recieved a text, it would get sent to the TT and get read aloud in the normal way.

I was, quite excited about this as its a brilliant way of controlling the phone through the touchscreen of the TT yet get perfect quality through the cars speakers. This excitement didnt last long cos when I powered off and back on it didnt work, nor can I get it going again even though I have done it in exactly the same way.

Any thoughts on this?

Steve
