fabia vrs engine bay detailing (ie underbonnet bling)

Featured Replies

has anyone got any pics of the underbonnet bling available for the VRS?

just wondering if there is anything that can be done, if only for something to do :D

also the car is missing the battery cover, where is the best place to get a replacement? to look on ebay are they generic throughout the vw/audi/skoda with the 1.9tdi?

ta

I broke my battery cover (the one that gets clipped in to, the one with all the electrical connections on) and the part number is 6Q0 937 550G (£14.97). The dealer fitted it by mistake (I didn't instruct them too), and was hence free of charge. Shame they forgot to put all the nuts on the connections leaving me powerless and stranded 1/2 mile from the dealers...

As the main battery cover with all the clips on is only £15, I can't imagine the top cover is much more than that, so is it really worth saerching around ebay when a genuine new part from Skoda is likely to be < £10?!

Little bit of bling on my old ride.

Forge caps.

Mine's been tweaked a bit more than most, but this gives some idea of the potential for fabia vRS engine bay bling. Things that are relatively easy are:

Colour coded cam cover + cambelt cover

Colour coded oil/water caps

replacement vacuum hoses in blue

strut brace / colour coded if wanted

Other bits and bobs start costing serious dosh after a while

Whats that silver thingy behind the front radiator?

I used Autoglym engine and machine cleaner rubbed in using a stiff paintbrush.

Then just jet washed it all off.

Used Autoglym Bumper Care on all the black stuff.

Fine wet and dry paper on the metal fuel pipes at the front, then some autosol to get them up to a mirror shine.

Autoglym SRP on the paint bits

Haha everyone asks what the chrome thing is - its a catch can, its filled with two stainless steel pan scourers tied up inside the end of a pair of tights - this catches oil vapour and condensation from the CCV which would otherwise be going back into the turbo inlet

Cheers for that, Yeh i was wondering what that cylinder thing was also!!

I see the Dragon Box has made a return!!
