Fabia 1.9TDI

Featured Replies

Hi am am trying to find out how to get the dipped headlights on my Fabia to come on with the ignition when driving on the continent - this would make it easier to comply with the law and avoid on the spot fines

Hmm, too complicated I think unless vagcom can set them to be "euro driving lights" Had this in CZ and you simply need to remember to turn them on. A big sticker on the steering wheel might help if you're only there for a little time. ;)

Thanks for that, I was hoping that there might be a simple link or fuse to replace that would enable driving lights on with ignition - with the varied laws in Europe I will have too many post it notes as it is:)

Hi Torwood,

I don't think you need to panic, I just returned from a 6

week tour of Denmark and Sweden with my 1.9TDI Fabia Elegance Estate

Over there you must drive with Dipped Headlights all the time, even in full

sunshine! You don't really forget to put them on, and on the very odd

occasion if you forget, the Danes or Swedes will flash to remind you. The

older cars did not have the auto 'Lights on' with the ignition so some of

these guys get 'Flashed' as well by their own countrymen!

Enjoy your trip

Its a bloody good idea to have lights on all the time.

The amount of times ive nearly hit a car or bike because they were in a shadow etc.

When just the lights on would save having to his the brakes... or anyone else!
