  1. Must admit I use A C whenever I change cars, such a variety of makes, but mainly because the cars now are so complex even a 60 day warranty is preferable than trying to get satisfaction from the backstreet cowboys we have round here whose cars are, in the main, straight from the auctions
  2. Arnold Clark warranty on used cars is only 60 days
  3. I suspect I have a bit of turbo lag that would account for slow pick-up until I hit a particular rev band, could this be sorted by re-programming ?
  4. I have just installed my Nextbase dash cam in the Skoda Kamiq, not a job I was looking forward to, at 79 with body not as flexible as before, skrabbling about in footwells was not something I liked but its done now, I had a set of piggyback positive leads but they were something I could have done without as I discovered a convenient empty fuse slot below a 15a blue one that fitted the 'off with ignition' requirement. This exercise has drawn my attention to the longevity of SD cards, I thought their lifespan was limitless hence the number of years re-cycling the same card since day one, but it looks like its time for a replacement
  5. I had exactly the same on a Citroen Zsara Picasso when the weather was hot, took ages to locate but a bit of folded paper cured it
  6. Both the Dacia and my present Skoda use a 6 speed box, believe it was the lesser spec using 5 speed
  7. Didnt the 95 only have a 5 speed box
  8. I had a brief 6 month period owning a Dacia Sandero Stepway before a pathetic dealership backup had me replacing it with the Kamiq 1.0 TSI, both having a 3 cylinder engine and 6 speed box but accelleration in the Dacia was outstanding by comparison no matter what gear you were in and the gearbox very positive in its selection, granted I am still getting used to the Kamiq having covered only 120 miles since I bought it but it just seems a bit sluggish, 15000 on the clock and just had a new clutch fitted, have the engines been de-tuned for the sake of emissions or economy , though an average of 54 MPG including roadwork traffic lights and rush hour crawl is good.

2023 model, looks like the app is useless then

Under the impression that Downloading MySkoda app, pairing the phone and logging on as main driver the promised land would beckon, preloading a journey, updating maps, vehicle status car location in a car park, I got sweet FA, all services appear to have a cost linked to them and that is a mega off-put, am I missing something ?
  11. First experience of using a Sat Nav 'shortest route' found me driving through a Greater Manchester Bus Station, but it makes you wonder how we managed, and did it easily, to get anywhere using a Road Map and sign posts back in the 60's, maybe traffic was lighter and we took our time, enjoying the journey
  12. 7 yo beer guide, crikey half the pubs will be long gone by now
  13. Have yet to fit my dash cam, got a hard wire kit off Ebay which includes 3 different size piggy back fuses, going by previous experiences with garages and MOT stations they have an aversion to dash cams and insist on immobilising them when working on the vehicle, thats where the magnetic mount of the Nextbase is an advantage. ps It must be 5 years since the sd card was formatted, didnt know it was to be something regular
  14. You have me worried with the clutch woes, my Kamiq has 14000 on the clock and the clutch pedal didnt feel right with a biting point at the floorboards but strangely it improved through being driven the following few days, Arnold Clark immediately took the car back and replaced the clutch etc, so its fingers crossed now
