2 messages that I ignore, the update one that repeats even after the update and the 'oil change' message which is actually not due as the car was serviced for sale between schedules

I happen to live in a terraced house, with a garden that in theory I could dig out and park a car but it doesn't end there, this area is over-run with students and rentals, hence the reason for 'no guaranteed parking place' and for people undertaking higher education in our Uni they do not appear to have many grey cells when it comes to car parking, the chance of being blocked in or out is remarkably high. To go electric would also mean moving house and area, I'm not rich enough

Firstly why were the only two comparisons made between top of the range supercars, Mercs, it went to great lengths waving the 'go electric' banner but never touched on the real-world issues that are raising doubt about electrics [1] the everyday charging, I imagine the majority of drivers reside in terraced houses or possibly in flats, not all having a garden, being confined to street parking, not necessarily in exactly the same location each time means for them the petrol car wins hands down for convenience [2] I have never seen a program that reveals how range is effected according to weather conditions, cold, wet, dark etc, wipers, heating, air-con, lights, lets throw in heated seats, all tests I have seen are in perfect daylight conditions. Tell you what, lets add a motorway traffic jam where all the above are operational but no distance is being achieved, could be for hours ! [3] Its rare but not unknown to experience power cuts, stormy weather, fallen trees, over demand as we are being pushed into an all electric future

Since then the car has successfully done the second update thanks to AI instruction to swipe down the screen from top to bottom and select 'notifications'

The car has updated, despite being in a concrete garage during the process, it informed me of the item being updated, job done, or so I thought until I started driving off up came that familiar message again, yes it wanted to do another update, I was driving so I didnt press update, neither did I press 'later', info was not available while driving, did the shopping but the update message has not, as yet, reappeared

Today only a short trip out to fill the tank, as usual within a few yards of travel the 'update' message appeared, this was an ideal opportunity to do the install when I got back & parked up in the garage overnight, however the plan was not straightforward, once back home for the life of me I could not find any way to get 'Update' back on the screen, I must have been sat over half an hour pushing buttons, cursing Laura [no help at all] going through the manual, still no wiser which info out of 3 screen I've got if it makes a difference. Eventually managed to get UPDATE appear at the top left of the screen, gave it a press with no response, should it at least tell you its in progress ? Anyway, did as informed, got out and locked the car, now got crossed fingers

And whs at is the reason for wanting the dash cam removed, I've had this on a few vehicles going in for service / repair

Message now come up on my dash for engine oil change, is this a service or just oil ?

I get this almost every time I get the car out, 'more info' tells you nothing and nothing happens if you select 'install', ps its a '23 Kamiq Right now its also telling me it wants an oil change, back to Arnold Clarks then

Definitely missing having a power supply that is dead when the ignition is off

I'm usually driving at the time, so your saying I have to be parked up to update

I get the update message regularly on the radio display, selecting an option appears to do nothing

Eager to fit my Head Up Display, which I am transferring from my previous car, I was disappointed to discover there was no standard USB-A socket on the car, so rummaged around and found a C to C lead but this would not operate the HUD with or without the engine running, a bit more rummaging found a 3 way extension with 2 USB-A outlets that used the cigarette lighter socket, using my original HUD power lead the unit worked straight away, what it it with these C charging ports on the car ?

All in the same stable I'm afraid
