i want to install my kenwood 6x9s onto the parcel shelf of my octy but how do i go about it? its not a case of swapping them with the rear speakers like in the fabia as there are no rear speakers! would i just have to wire them through the car and plug them into the stereo?

Take the 6x9s.

Take your receipt.

Take them back to the shop.

Buy something good

6x9s are pretty poor and a thief-magnet.

If you have a better stereo fitted than the standard one then you'll get better sound quality with some 13cm speakers in the factory fit locations and a subwoofer.

If you still have the factory fit stereo then it will sound awful anyway as that's a real pile of carp that needs replacing.

Does the octy stereo have outputs for rear speakers? Or are you using an aftermarket headunit? Either way it looks like you'll need to run some wires.

I agree and have done it, a change of head unit will transform the sound of your octy:thumbup:

i've had these 6x9s for a couple of years now and used them in my fiesta and fabia. i think the sound quality is excellent although they were used with my sony Xplod HU which too is awesome. Do you reckon the stream unit is to blame for the muffled sound from the NS front speaker then?

I had this and replaced the speaker and all was well again.

Do you need a new speaker ?

i cant tell if its the speaker of the tweeter tho. i booked it in at jewson skoda for them to look at it and they said they couldnt find a problem but i know its there and its annoying me

I'd imagine the front speaker is knackered, one of mine was on my Octy.

As people have said, please don't use 6x9's, they are the devils work. If you've got the cash I'd replace the X Plod HU too, they really are NOT awesome and the range features some of the tackiest looking head units known to man!
