sat nav

Featured Replies

just a quick question i have a elegance and just wondering wether sat nav can be retrofitted

Yes it can, What you need is a Skoda MFD1 unit, I think there is a fitting thread on here somewhere.

Baker21 had his Comfort model fitted with OEM sat nav. I think it was a VW model but when fitted, the maxidot display doesn't work. As yours is an Elegance spec, you might have the loom for the maxidot display for the oem sat nav. I expect Baker21 will be along soon

If you have an Elegance model then there is a good chance you have the wiring for the Sat Nav but if not then you won't have the maxi-dot display or steering wheel controls working once you have fitted the unit.

The correct unit you will need is the Skoda DX unit which illuminate's green and not the MFD1 which will illuminate Red / Blue and is fitted into VW's.

Don't you mean a DX? They can be found on Ebay........

I've got a pda that I run tomtom 6 on and also use the media player for music. I was tempted to have a look for the factory fit unit but if it is going to knock out the steering wheel controls and the MFD then I'll save the money for the suspension.

Cheers
