From type R to VRS

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Just sold my civic type R and purchased my first skoda fabia VRS 04 plate.

Car is fantastic and im very happy i picked the skoda.

I only covered 3k miles in 15 months with the honda so think the skoda will save me a bit of money without losing the performance.

Great performance coupled with great MPG.

Its a different driving experience than the type R but its certainly a cracking hot hatch.

Any advice with regards to my fabia VRS would be more than welcome.

Cheers.

3,000 Miles in 15 months .

I did it the other way around to you. I went from the Fabia vRS to the Type R.

Performance wise - Yes the two cars do differ. However this is opening a massive debate on this topic so I will move on.

I loved my Fabia and it had a great MPG and could always put a smile on my face. I did 36,000 Miles in my Fabia '06 plate and the car still felt like new. The only issue I ever had was tyres!

If you don't mind me asking what Year was the car and Mileage when you sold it? - How much did you get for it?

Enjoy the new car and Welcome to Briskoda :D

My type R was a 55 plate, cosmic grey, premiere edition.

10600 miles on the clock.FHSH

I sold it last week for 10.5k

Loved the type R, amazing car, thrilling drive.

Need something more practical and economical so went for the fabia.

2 very different cars and hard to compare really.

Hello and welcome, enjoy your new motor.

Batten down the hatches......it could go in here.

Welcome to Briskoda

Got the diesel skoda because for the next 6 months ill have a fair bit of commuting to do.

My wife will also be using the skoda on a regular basis so a diesel makes sense:)

I went from a Honda Accord Type R to a Fabia vRS and they are quite different cars.

The Honda was much faster, handled far better and a had a great soundtrack.

The vRS offers torque wallop in abundance, 45-50mpg and vandal-free and thief-proof driving since it doesn't scream performance.

I've since modded my vRS with RARB and coilovers and 312mm brakes and it has made the car a LOT more fun. It still doesn't handle as well as the Honda (and can't, what with the heavy diesel engine up front) but it's a great all-rounder. Once I remap it to 190-200bhp I'll have similar performance to my Honda (which had 209bhp) but should get 45mpg without breaking into a sweat.

I only changed my Honda because I'd done over 100,000 miles in it. I miss the handling and the VTEC soundtrack. I don't miss the fuel bills or its high profile.

Enjoy your car!

Welcome :)

welcome enjoy your car! get some pics up so we can oogle over it
