newly repaired/painted door and Silver Seal

Featured Replies

Do you need to do anything special with it

dont touch new paint with any sort of chemical for a few months.

After a few months it should be ok to apply some "silver seal" or hard wax

I don't actually have any silver seal to re-apply to the car but I could buy some wax and do the whole car I suppose. Is it a good idea to apply wax over Silver Seal on the whole car without touching the new painted but with more Silver Seal (am I making sense????)

Wax over silver seal will be fine IMHO.

I'd suggest once the paint has cured use klasse All In one on that door to clean/polish/seal it and then wax the whole car with 2 layers of collinite 476s.

If you hardly ever do it you'll find it lasts a good while.

Since you're down my way i'm happy to give you a small sample of the colli to have a play with if you like.

Thanks mate, I appreciate that offer and may take you up on it a little closer to the time. A lot of people rave on about the coli 476 so I may just invest in some!

If you only like to give the car a proper clean and wax only twice a year then you'll like the colli i think :)

Colli is good stuff - I applied the stuff months ago and the rain still beads off

:thumbup:thanks for all the advice. I will wait a couple of months and then get some Colli 476 on it I reckon!

Don't forget to get a non abrasive paint cleaner such as Megs DC1, lime prime lite or Klasse All in one on it first so the wax can get a good bond on the surface :)
