Squeaky Polys

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Had a set of weitec shocks and springs fitted, and a set of powerflex poly bushes all round. Apparently they didnt fit some of the front ones as they werent needed ??????

Anyways im now gettin an annoying squeaking from the front right hand side suspension which according to my local garage (who are normally **** hot at picking out probs and sorting them) its just due to the poly's being so much stiffer

Is this the case or is something seriously wrong, like possibly new AR bar needed?

Which ones didn't they fit, I ask because the rear polys can shift about a bit, you'll probably find that they didn't fit the front ones as the standard items tend last forever compared the the rear wishbone ones which last about 5 minutes in my experience.

cheers dave

but my front bushes were on their way anyway, hence why having them replaced

not sure which ones werent done

You need too find out which ones they didn't do really, just for your info really !!!

When you say front bushes there are two in the front wishbones one front and one rear. The rear one can cause problems by moving around a bit,(which is the rear I meant in my other post not the rear beam bushes) I would get to check too make sure, ideally by jacking the car and crowbaring it too see if the there is movement.

In the above photo item1 is the front wishbone bush and item 2 is rear.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer :D

You paid money for someone to say "you don't need these so we ignored your instructions"!?

Ken has a point there as well.

I find since having poly bushes fitted that when it rains I get a creaking as the bush flexes against the control arm. Doesn't do it while driving and cornering only when going over speed bumps so it doesn't bother me too much

I had a full kit on one of my old Corrados and they squeeked quite a lot- really irritating after a while.
