VRS Springs with Koni FSD dampers....

Featured Replies

Would they work okay on my 1.9 TDi Fabia estate? I am buying some new FSD dampers, and have found some standard VRS springs cheap....

Would these work well together?

I dont know the answer to your question. But I would presume not?

If you are fitting FSD's. Why not fit some Eibach springs as well. These are very inexpensive and would give you a much better ride. As I have these fitted to my VRS and the ride and handling is exceptional. Plus it would only be one cost of labour if you are having them fitted at a garage.

I'd be very wary of the Eibachs - Eibach apparently "Insist" they can only be fitted with steering limiters that they neglect to ship in the box. My car was lowered with the Eibach 25mm kit and the FSDs and they rub something awful on full lock. And for almost £800 fitted I was expecting MUCH better. And I have no idea what it's going to cost to get the limiter rings fitted now. I'm tempted to take them back where I bought them from and tell them to take them off to be honest. And to everyone who will pile in and say they've got them fitted with no limiters and they don't rub, well, Eibach "Insist" that they have to be fitted, but they don't ship them in the box. Sounds like poor quality control to me.The FSDs are superb though - you'd never know they were 'sports' shocks until you turn in hard.

Is that on a VRS or other Fabia, as mine dont rub at all?

Likewise, mine dont rub?

Well , I have learn`t something new today

I have called Eibach in regards these , as I wanted to know

On the specific vRS springs there IS a metal spring with a grub screw in and that is your steering limiter

So yes they say that it CAN be used , but not a MUST

They do have these bits in their kits , and you should have got one

I have just spoken to them , and they said if you want one we can get one sorted for you

PM me if required and we can get one shipped out to you straight away

Sarah

I have to say that's very generous of you, and I think it's worth mentioning I didn't get the kit from Awesome! However, the guy who fitted them should have the parts by now direct from Eibach so they're sorted. I'm just hacked off that I am going to have to spend more time and money having these limiters fitted and also that apparently I'm going to lose some lock, which isn't ever mentioned in Eibach (or anyone else's) advertising. My wife currently won't drive the car as she thinks it could be dangerous although she has been encouraging me to go out on my own 'for a blast round a multi-storey car park'.

Hi

I just like to think that everyone is happy with them

If I can help , then I am here to help , wether you got the springs from us or not

If I can assist anyone , then I am here to help

I think it's fair to say Eibach's manufacturing may be somewhat inconsistent, and if they rub then they say, "Oh really?! Have you fitted those limiting rings we forgot to put in the box?. No?, well, we do great customer service - we'll spend £1 sending you what you should have fitted while the mechanic had the thing in bits in the first place, now all you have to do is shell out another £100+VAT to take it all to pieces again and do the job the way it should have been in the first place". I think that's a poor response quite frankly. So on the basis that an unhappy customer tells 20x more people than a happy one, I'll let everyone know that they're potential rubber rubbers at every possible opportunity.
