Bring on the niggles!

Featured Replies

770 miles on the clock. Did an engine check, book in hand. Have diacovered that the 4x4 doesn't have a DPF, tho i'm sure that I have read that it did!

Then, having re-fuelled, tried to rest the maxidot. Memory 1 clears OK, but not the mileage. Check memory 2, that also clears, but not the mileage. Any one had this, or am I off to the dealers for a diagnostic session?

Are you trying to reset the trip mileages [memory (1) or (2) ] or the odometer ? ;)

(just in case you're trying to reset the odo, which can only be done with a separate disagnostic tool, to make it harder for the unscrupulous to "clock" speedos )

Nope, definitely the trip, and neither will move, however long I hold Button 'B'.

The main trip uses the button on the dash panel, just push it in. I take it you mean that trip rather than the memory 1 & 2 trips.

I would not worry about the DPF as it means you now have one less thing to go wrong with the car!!

Check the codes in the front of the service manual - if you've got something like 7GG as one of the codes you've got a DPF. My 2.0TDI 4x4 does so I'd be amazed if yours didn't

Main trip is the button on the dials. Mem A/B trips are done on the reset button on the stalk.

The 2.0PD 4x4 has a DPF (as does the scout and (PD)vRS) but not the 1.9PD nor the 2.0CR it seems

He is driving a 1.9TDi which doesn't have a DPF.
