Just taken off the oil filter for the first time and found filter loose with 10 inchs of plastic with 2 " O " sticking out. How do I separate to change filter element PLEASE? Many thanks.

Is the filter not a screw on type?

Filter rotates freely in plastic shell but does not appear to unscrew.

It just pulls out.
