I was surprised

Featured Replies

Ok now i know a lot of you will roll your eyes but trust me this stuff is worth it.

My dad told me about a waterless wash & wax stuff that he got from ideal world. It's called Pro-Shine. (Link below is from another website as ideal worldone is down at the moment). Now i didnt believe what i was seeing on the TV as they use all sorts on the car panel (spray paint, Tar etc) and it all came off really easy. i just thought yeah specially prepared panel for the product. However my dad was adamant it worked just like it does on the TV. So because he is my dad i believed him :D and bought some for myself.

I was very very surprised at the results. My car was (in my terms) Minging. it was covered in flies and tar and allsorts of other road grime so i wasnt holding out much hope.

However this stuff is weird. you just spray it on and rub it around with one micro fibre cloth (which i thought was going to scratch the paint work but it doesnt) and then buff it off with another clean micro fibre cloth. The claim of doing a whole car in 15 minutes is not true if you have a really dity car and its not been cleaned with this stuff before (ill get to that in a minute)

Anyway me and the girlfriend spent about an hour (me doing body and her doing the wheels) cleaning the car with this stuff. And i have to admit it is very good. It will never beat a proper good wash with soap and water and then a good proper wax (so detailers you can breath a sigh of relief :D:rofl:) however i would compare it to the sort of shine you would get from a new car direct from the showroom.

Here is the link to the product

ProShine Spray & Shine (For the Ultimate Show Shine) ProShine Spray & Shine Waterless Wash & Wax [] - £9.99 : netparts.co.uk, LOWERING the Cost of Motoring and Giving Your Car the TREATMENT it Deserves

Ive put some pics up too. The first 2 are of the car before cleaning and the next 3 are afterwards. Its that good you can clearly see my mutts reflection in the car in one of them.

As i said its never going to beat doing it properly (usually takes me about 9 hours to clean my car properly) however as a quick fix it really is good. Now the TV site claims it can be done in 15 Minutes. This i did achieve on my girlfriends car but only because she had cleaned it a week earlier with the stuff. Once its been done once then the Carnuba Wax that is in it apparantly sets like concrete and then makes it easier everytime after that.

Anyway have a look at the pics and see for yourself

Before I said it doesn't scratch I would get Baker to test the car panels with his light, you may not be able to see it now but the scratching will build up, washing with lots of water will rinse away the dirt but this you just spray the car and then proceed to rub the dirt/grit all over the car and the wax does a neat job of covering it over for now.

Saw it on the TV the other day and my first thought was would I get a cloth put a handful of dirt from the garden on it and then wipe all over my car  uuuuuhhh NO

I must admit that I too would be worried about smearing crap all over my paintwork........

The only time I would consider using it would be if my car was a show or similar and got a little dirty on the way there.

I also have to say I can't see any difference between the before and after pics...

nope cant stand the idea of doing that and if it takes an hour then i might as well get a hose and soap out and do it in 40 minutes (including a quick coat of wax).

they will be cursing you over on Detailing world

I know my dad uses this stuff and was not impressed the first time he used it but seems to have grown to like it, will show him this thread through.

Ive used the waterless stuff before.we went to a show and cleaned the car with it.came out well.

Seen this advertised and I would be very reluctant to use it.............:thumbdwn:

You didn't mention that you had used this in your PM.............

Hi

For the sake of your car carry out a burial in your the back garden for this stuff

Regards Whoosh

There's something about the idea of these waterless products that really makes me very sceptical as to long-term scratching etc.

Or in other words...eeh bah gum, yer wouldn't catch me rubbing that inter mah car :)

(not a dig btw!) :D

its just speed detailer in a bottle i imagine!
