Newbie with a problem "suprise suprise"

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I have just joined as I guess most people have found there way here cos they have a problem with the car and have had little joy from the main dealers.

Our main family car is a 01plate Fabia Comfort 1.9tdi.

I drive a (whispers )Toyota MPV but used more of a load carrier.

After reading what I can, It appears that we have the faulty sensor for the power steering, and I am probably being a numpty, but was wondering if there where any tutorials on the forum for changing them.

My local Skoda Garage quoted possibly £400. I guess they may have been covering themselves for a pump problem. They where saying"oh yes common problem but not sure as there cold be other faults to sort out"

I can weald a spanner and am even better with a large lump hammer:rofl:

Hammers for the Toyota, responds better that way

Kim

Hi Kim, Welcome to Briskoda. You will have better luck posting this in the Fabia 1 section as more people will be looking to help you on there.

Have you tried the search facility?

Good luck with finding a solution to your problem.

Welcome to the site. Hope you get it sorted :)

Welcome. I have moved this thread to the Fabia I forum where you are more likely to get the response you need.

Are you sure it's a sensor?

Has the fault computer been read?

PAS fluid levels?

Oh and welcome to Briskoda

Oh and welcome to Briskoda

Thankyou one and all for the welcome.

Yes Captain Sisko, We got a local garage who has all the kit and He put his , whatever its called, and found odd readings coming from the sensor.

told the computor he had replaced it but then it went doolaly again.

Fluid levels ok and new battery 2 months ago. I have checked electrical connections and checked for water in the looms and "appears" to be ok.

It is the original sensor from new and is on an 01 plate

After reading for hours on here, I have the classic symptoms.

I have found the picture tutorial of how to change it so

Looks like I will have to cough up the cash from the local dealer for a new one but will then have to get the local guy to resett the computer.

Again thanks for the welcome

Kim

Can't believe no ones asked yet but...... Are you cute? Oh and welcome to briskoda, hope you get the fabia sorted soon:thumbup:
