Need a little help with a sensor

Featured Replies

As the title says, my car has been diagnosed with a busted steering sensor and a minor lambda problem at the local dealer, and I need to know where is that steering sensor located and how can I remove it myself as I need the code in order to buy a new one from a car parts shop, lambda will stay `till it gives a last breath :D. The car is a Skoda Fabia Classic 1.4 MPI , 50kW, motor code: ATZ, year of built 2000. These problems came right after a small crash, parts replaced on the car were: front bumper and front right headlamp, that`s all.

Thanks, it all looks easy now after seeing those pictures with the information next to them. Before knowing this I had a fear that I'd have to disassemble 50% of the car to get to it :gapteeth:

Bad news, problem is still not solved, and I`m getting sceptic about that sensor, so here`s the whole story, right after my car was fixed came the problems, the biggest problem now is my power steering, with the sensor plugged in, while steering my lights are flashing everywhere, dash, headlamps, tail lights and so on,sometimes the pump goes crazy without me doing nothing; with the sensor unplugged from that electronic pump I get the same thing but only when I steer the whole way to the right or left, that`s when the steering wheel jams and has no more room to go then the pump makes noise again (works) and "sucks" the current from the battery, but only then, this way I don`t have power steering but at least my pump doesen`t go crazy all the time....can something go wrong if I use the car with the pas sensor unpugged from the pump (unplugged from battery current) ? cause I can`t find the sensor in my area and I guess I'd have to go to Hungary for it that will be about 120 Km the whole trip. And another question with the lambda they said some heating wire is damaged in it, what's that heating wire and what does it do? Sorry for bugging you with my problem guys but the mechanics in this country look at my car like it`s some sort of a space ship... PS battery and alternator were measured and tested and are ok
