17" or 18" alloys

Featured Replies

How much difference in ride will there be between a 225/45/17 and a 225/40/18 profile tyre?

How many people have gone from 17" to 18" and what difference did you feel?

Thanks

Had the 18"'s on mine and took them off, harder ride due to the lower profile and tram lined quite a lot.

Also bear in mid that the 17" OEM spiders are a lot lighter and stronger than most of the after market ones that are quite soft and can buckle on pot holes.

For some weird and wonderful reason unbeknown to me, mine came with 16's on and rides perfectly well, so if you want to swap your 17's for my 16's, I'll pop round in the morning :rofl::rofl: !!!

I have 16"s on my car at the minute. I'm off to look at some OEM wheels tomorrow a set of 17"s and a set of 18"s. I know what the 17"s will feel like as I had a set of Audi S3 Avus alloys before but the 18"s are cheaper to buy than the 17"s but I'm unsure how much harder the ride will be with the slightly stiffer/lower profile tyre.
