Mortified

Featured Replies

I was walking back to my car the other day, she looked gorgeous as i approached her in the blazing sunshine...and then i saw them.....SWIRL MARKS on the rear spoiler !! aarghhhh!!!!

I don't do swirl marks, but i put a couple of coats of wolfgang sealant on a couple of weeks ago (awesome on black !!), and can only assume i did it then ( i use all the proper cloths etc)

Anyway, i've tried to replicate the lighting,to have a good look, but can't.

I've searched on the forum, and it would appear Brinkmanns and sun guns do the business, but is there something else readily available (eg ebay/argos etc), just for a 'casual' user?

A halogen lamp in a darkened garage seems to pick out most swirl marks. Something upward of 250 watts should suffice. Fairly cheap from the usual DIY culprits and should show up most of the gory detail :(

Metal halide lamps like the ones used in garage forecourts seem to pick out swirls on darker cars at night (I speak from experience!)

Halogen 500 Watt work lamps from places such as Screw fix work well, I have some and they are cheap as chips..........

If you have swirl marks on your paintwork then I would check your wash process as well.........
