nice one jambo

shame about the rain !!

its not as dark as i thought. is it def anthracite ?

Nice looking car mate, but (and at the risk of being pelted with rotten fruit) whooooa, that ride height, it looks like the "Scout" edition.

How does it run?

Nice car m8 love the colour against the cream leather.

but thats the point - how do you think it gets a comfy ride that is useable in every day life !!

low ride height might look good on a stand at the motor show or in a concors competition but who gives a toss when you are riding the bumpy country lanes !!

its very stable at normal UK speeds. i test drove it round the sweeping lanes of lincolnshire and not once did i feel like it was too wallowy . it feels as nimble as a golf to drive - honestly, no exaggeration. it shrinks in size as soon as you drive it.

That's exactly what I wanted but had to compromise on the paint in my negotiations to get the Elegance over the SE and when I won that and it got ordered no one specified interior colour so I'm getting black.

Oh well, I'm sure it'll look ok in block Pacific Blue with black leather.

Could you tell me if the lights are auto and if it has nice shiny exhaust pipes please?

hang on, Easy tiger, I was just commenting that it looked a little high, BMW's, Merc's, Lexii etc seem to achieve it with much less of a gap betwixt tyres and arches.

My Roomster is 40MM lower, handles like a roller skate and is still compliant enough on my 30k miles per year on our UK roads, German Autobahns and Belgian camel tracks.

It is a lovely car from some angles, it has a hint of 7 series about it, but then from others a hint of peugot about it (not sure that's a good thing). The colour looks great and certainly suits the lines of the car, and as long as the owners happy then that's all that matters.

to the OP, thanks for posting picks up of your car

Yeah, sorry, it was said in the best possible taste

Hi jambo121,

There is a picture of open door - front seat.

Can we have a picture of the back seat please.

Ta.

Thanks for the pics, Jambo. It looks very nice. I was tempted to go for anthracite myself, but thought it looked a bit dark in some of the promo pictures I've got. That's the trouble with choosing a colour when you can't actually see it in the flesh.

The interior colour combination works really well. A lovely looking motor.

Now that you've taken delivery, could you look up something in your manual for us? Myself and jcblincs are trying to suss out how the hill hold works. Skoda retailer support have told me that it can be turned on and off with a button on the gearstick surround (like the current Passat). However, hill hold on all other Skodas is permanently enabled. Can you see if the manual sheds any light on this?

Thanks,

Bagpuss.

Baggy I will check the Hill Hold out for you and JC tonight.

Do the rear seat squabs lift up & are they 60/40? as they look like one piece in the pic.

Rear squabs are fixed, but you do get a 60/40 split.

It's a shame, as the seats backs don't fold completely flat due to the squabs not lifting up.

Bagpuss.

Thanks, thats what it looked like.

I hope they remedy that when the estate is launched otherwise it will pretty useless.

I wonder why they have made the centre console as long, for taxi work that would get kicked to hell when folk slide over

doubt it. the pic is deceptive. there is soooooo much room int he back i dont think it matters. also i guess skoda dont build cars to be used as taxis !!!

Yes the console WILL get kicked, my son does it every time he climbs across the back and the console looks to be in the same position as the MK1.

Thats exactly how the veins on the rear air vents went walkies, anyone know if they can be replaced cheaply maybe from another model in the VAG from a scrappy

no vents on the mk2. they are in the B-pillar so this shoulh help a bit.
