Quick opinions about bilstein b10 and apex suspension kits

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I need a quick advice on suspension kits:)

I tried to source some koni str.t from dcdezign and a few other places. It seams like there is no stock at all in the whole uk untill 1s week of november.

Alternatives offered were apex kit and bilstein b10 kit

Does anyone have some experience with those kits?

Thank you very much for any information

Cheers

Igor

No specific experience, but Bilstein are a big and well reputed name in suspension, particularly damper, manufacturing.

I've got the STR.T kit and at first it was a bit stiff but after 500 miles it seems to be loosening up a bit and it's more comfortable. It handles brilliant round twisties and roundabouts and the car looks the dogs with it.

I had to wait a few weeks for mine as well for the same reasons and I bought it from DC Dezign. The first kit that came was scratched though but

Dan Garlick was brilliant and got the scratched kit picked up and a new one delivered in 3 days. It wasn't DC's fault, it happened in the Koni factory.

I agree with Ken though, the Bilsteins have a good rep for dampers. If you get the Bilsteins post back with your opinions of them.

What car have you got because I couldn't get the cheaper Bilsteins for the 1.8T?

Thumbs up for the STR.T kit here too

I have it on my Fabia , and has been for approx 1 year now

Fantastic kit and I love it to bits

With the rear ARB my car is transformed

Thank you very much guys.

The car is octy 1.8t.

I'll put the suspension on 1.11 so I'll let you know my impressions and images before and after.

Cheers:thumbup:

Bilstein dampers are amongst the best in the business. Not sure on Apex springs though. I can wholeheartedly recommend Eibach Pro Kit springs for a subtle drop and good ride quality and would work well with the B10s.

It's been a while now...

I ended up with koni str't kit at the end as i was quite scared of 40/60mm drop that bilstein was offering.

I am impressed with that cheap koni kit. The car is considerably lower but still alright for day by day driving.

Definitely recommended replacement for worn oem suspension and well worth 250 squids IMHO:rofl:

I have to agree with the above

I have had mine on for approx 1 year now and with the high mileage that I do , have done approx 40k

Nice one , thank yoy for letting us know

Sarah
