Got a clunking / knocking noise coming from the front end of my car. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side, the same side i put over a high kerb about 6 months ago. Im thinking that could have something to do with it, but it didnt clunk straight away, was after say 4 months? Ive got cupra bushes on it, and fk coilovers with the shortened droplinks and a front strut brace, i thought it might be the shock because there was some play in it, but i changed the insert (£75) and its still clunking. Have had a good look about and the bushes etc seem fine. Not happy Any suggstions? Could be the top mount but it also seems fine and all is tight. Cheers. Euan

Thinking it may be the steering rack. Anyone else had this problem before? Only other thing i noticed was that it looked like the driveshaft had fouled on the chassis leg, but theres fabias on here lower than mine? :confused: It wasnt badly marked but it has hit in the past, but i raised it and still the clunking?

If check the drop links. About £15 each and 10min job to fix

well it looks like its the droplinks. Id checked them with the car jacked up and they were fine, then my mate said to get it on a 4 poster and check them with the weight on them, so did that and theres a bit of movement in them, so hopefully this will cure the clunk. Just need to source the droplinks.

yeah you need to have the weight on the wheels to check drop links. Ever so slight knock of mine when i picked it up and i got the drop link for £15 from a local parts store. Dealer might be abit dearer?? it will be fine with a spurious 1 tho

Sounds weird, wouldnt think they could be away already? Have you uprated any of the bushes?

yes have uprated front and rear, powerflex and cupra bushes
