orange oil light?

Recommended Posts

Check the level. AIUI, an orange light means low oil level, and a red one means low oil pressure. If the level is OK, the oil level sensor may be faulty. Assuming that's all that's up, you'll be OK to keep driving until you can book it in to get the sensor changed, provided you keep an eye on the oil level 'manually' with the dipstick. I should warn you that I'm not 100% certain, though, so it may be a good idea to wait for a second opinion...

Orange is level and red is pressure. Make sure you check the level when the car is cold and on a level surface.

If the level is fine then its possible the sensor is faulty. I'm not sure where this sensor is though...?

That sensor measures oil temperature, so no I don't think thats the one.

I think it will be the pressure sensor tbh, but could be barking up the wrong tree.

Right, I've had a little look and I can't see any evidence of a "level" sensor as such, so I think its worked out from oil pressure. The pressure switch isn't dear so it might be worth changing that.
