Folks,

I've seen posts from the likes of Revo that the 1.8T FSI is good for about 220BHP following a remap. Does anyone know of the DSG box can handle the extra BHP/Torque be stuffed through from the engine?

BHP should, torque no. The 7-speed DSG can handle torque up to 250Nm.

I spoke to Revo about this, and they will only remap the manual at present.

As downtime says, it's all about the poor torque handling capability of the DSG.

Stick with the DSG. I'm sure there will be suitable remaps in the future if thats what you want

to be honest i am sure a remap will not be necessary. we have had the 1.8T in an A6 and a passat . i pull a large caravan with my passat and it comes well. the superb is only 50kg heavier than my passat but has 40nm more torque and 8bhp more so it should cope pretty well i think.

Well for the 7spd DSG only being able to handle 250nm of torque. I'd have to say this will prove to be a short term hurdle to pass... As here is an example of a 6spd DSG that is supposed to top out at 350nm, exceeding 450nm! :eek: Feature Car: Corporate Cultured - Chris Gigon's APR Stage III GTI

I know of a PD140 DSG that handled 410nm of Torque without issues, and it had a hard (ish) life

mine has approx. 400nm with 190,000kms on the clock and the DSG hasn't missed a beat and very few of the kms where easy !!

might have issues with warranty if its revo'd though ?

183lb/ft? There's more torque in this thread.
