Antifreeze

Featured Replies

Hi ppl is there a special antifreeze i need to use in our fabia 1.9tdi? Will the blue stuff from halfords be sufficient. cheers

You need G12+ (or now G12++) which is a pink colour.

Blue is no good for VAG vehicles

Does it make that much difference, are there any implications.

WOOHOO! At least something can be pink in Lissy :D

(sorry)

The blue is no good.

If you add it to the G12+ in the system it will turn brown.

Halfords do sell some universal antifreeze which you can mix with other sorts and they do there own long life stuff which I believe is pink.

If you are thinking about giving the system a full flush and replenishment I'd be thinking about getting some G12+ to put back it anyway.

It can if you want to look after the car engine , its better quality , long life , and works ourt no more expensive than the blue cheep stuf in the long run, after 4 years still on y original bottle from the VAG dealer . l

G12+ / G12 ++ is the stuff you want. Its designed for Volkwagen's engines and is better with the sensors etc. that are in the system

The blue stuff may not have the correct rust inhibitors in it and will be based on a different ingredient list so will have different boiling and freezing points.

The G12+ is cheap enough so I'd just get some tins of that myself.
