  1. Yes it's the ACT ,eco engine ,you could phone Caffyns and ask for a quote , fortunately unlike my previous which was a diesel ,the water pump is on the opposite side ,separate belt so does not have to be done at the same time ,ask for a free courtesy car if you book it in advance otherwise it's a long wait ,they did not charge me ,just be sure to have your driving licence
  2. The Dealer was Caffyns in Ashford ,just off the M20 ,had them do the last 5 years servicing since purchasing it there
  3. My Octavia is a 2017 1.5 petrol came up for the cambelt change in december 2022 70k miles and 5 years , was charged £730 in total ,at a Main Skoda Dealer in Kent and job took about 5 hours , your being quoted over the top
  4. The cambelt was completed in one day dropped off at 9 and picked it up at 1600, the all in price including vat was £729 , they had refilled coolant as well, had it done at Caffyns Ashford Kent .
  5. Purchased the All In 2 Year Plan a week ago after my recent service , did the calculation and it works out no more expensive than the combined service costs plus MOT , payments spread over the 2 years monthly , get the added AA ROADSIDE AND 2 YEAR WARRANTY INCLUDED THOUGH ,and maybe not impacted by any year on year price rise at the dealers , car is 5 years old now so only added cost not covered is the Time Belt , but i knew that .
  6. Mine flashes whilst it is on and then stops when it turns off automaticly , may be just an auto time thing it does , thats what iam assuming
  7. Car is booked in for the Cambelt 7/8 December , will post an update on actual cost and time they took and any other interesting comments , once it is completed
  8. Apparently , having been told yesterday by the Dealer its a 6 to 7 hour job being the ACT engine, have done about 3 so far , and advised having problems costing the job , due the the amount of Time it takes , iam hoping that they would have gained a bit more experience before mine is done in december now ( Quoted £725 ) skoda dealer in Ashford Kent
  9. Well had the service done today at main dealer Skoda 71000 miles/5 Years , needed brake fluid change , MOT , Pollen Filter . Was going to do the Cam Belt , but was told after arriving that as its the 1.5 Engine , they would have to do the Cam Belt another day , indicated they were getting the first few 5 Year old cars in on the 1.5 petrol type, and that the Job was taking them 6 to 7 Hours , They have booked me in again with a free loan car over 2 days in a few weeks time . Was advised that the going price for a normal , non 1.5 engine is circa £550 , but on my model ie 1.5 engine 2017 facelift , they are trying to be realistic and quoted me £725 . So all you owners with a 1.5 Engine , LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BEING QUOTED OR THOUGHT THE PRICE WOULD BE ,Thanks
  10. My 2017 , octavia is due the New Cam Belt next month , its the 1.5 TSI engine , any recomendations where to get it done at an independent in East Kent area . One skoda garage quoted 0ver £900 and another £ 600 , will be having a service as well . Just coming up to 70K miles . Thanks
  11. Surprisingly the warranty cost for the pump replacement was £480 ,
  12. So all fixed under Warranty , on the FL model the Pump is seperate from the Timeing Belt , they did mention that there had been a few cars 4 to 5 in for the same problem over the last 6 months , they had also seen the diesel versions coming in for replacements due to the Pump sticking open/closed . Ive got an extra years warranty on the car from new ,so hopefully no further problems
  13. The car is s late 2017 December assume FL with split headlights , will ask when timebelt is due ,but 40k miles and just 3 years ,did not expect it to go so early,
  14. So my 2017 Octavia 1.5 , was due its 3 year service this week , just over 40k miles , advised them i was having to top up Coolant , So service and MOT carried out and advised Water Pump was leaking and that they would replace under the warranty , also i mentioned the driver Seat Belt was Fraying , so they also replaced this under warranty, i added and extra year on top of the 3 when purchased so hopefully all covered for another 12 months . Very good service from Caffyns Ashford .However somewhat surprised after only 3 years , my previous octy TDI 130 had no such problems in its 248k /13 years , only time pump was replaced was at the Cambelt change over ,as recommended on here .
