Rsap help

Featured Replies

I have an Superb Elegance. Is there any way to switch off Rsap requirement so that standard bluetooth can be used. I have a company phone, which I can then take the SIM out of and put in an Rsap phone, pairs OK initially but the security of the SIM keeps disconnecting the connection. When used to a standard bluetooth hands free (I used to use Tom Tom in previous car) everything is fine.

Any help really appreciated

Thanks

No, because the carkit is not a normal bluetooth one and does not support the headset/car profile. The RSAP kit is basically a mobile phone, that downloads the sim data from your phone. Your phone is basically a slave and is not used when making / receiving calls, instead the carkit makes and receives calls.

It is perhaps a misnomer (spelling) to call it a bluetooth kit, it should really be an RSAP kit as the 2 are very different, the only common feature is that both kits use bluetooth as a means to establish the connection.

It would help us if you could provide some more information. Namely:

- What phone are you using?

- Which mobile network?

- What do you mean when you say the SIM security causes the phone to keep disconnecting?

Bagpuss.
