I've tried replacing the standard Skoda 402 radio cassette unit in my Fabia 1.4 16v Elegance with the Skoda MS411 single CD player. Seemed fine at first but I now see that the CD player fascia illumination is permanently on no matter whether the key is in ignition or not. Switching CD off does not remove illumination either. You can guess how I discovered this fault - flat battery the morning after installing CD (bright sunshine at time, didn't notice)

Can anybody out there throw some light on this ? (oops - puns are getting worse !)
