323mm Discs

Featured Replies

Im after some new 323mm discs. Does anyone have any experience with the CRN discs that are on ebay now and again or should I avoid these?

Im after grooved only discs so any ideas/recommendations are welcome:thumbup:

stay clear of ebay for brake imo !!!!

id be shopping at either a skoda dealer or a local garage that has a proven track record of dealing with and fitting after market brakes.

I believe Badger5 over on SCN was doing these discs at a good price. I believe they were drilled or grooved, I can't remember which. I assume this is for the Cupra R brembos? I'll need some soon as well I reckon.

The brembo drilled are good IMO, its difficult to get a decent disk in 323 at a decent price though.

Much like most things in life, you get what you pay for.

If you intend to keep the car for a while maybe worth looking at bells and rotors and you can always go bigger too :P:D

Yeah, these are for the Cupra R Brembos.

As for going bigger ive been looking at the 330mm set up from Badger5 on SCN but im not sure if they will fit under 17" wheels or if I can face spending over 600 quid on front discs and pads.

I'll give Godspeed a bell in the morning and see what he suggests.

I was quoted £200 roughly, all in, for EBC Ultimax discs which guys over on SCN perform at least as well as the stock brembo 323mm disc, but at a lot less cost.

EBC Ultimax and DS2500 pads are looking like a favorite option so far.

It's definitely the disc I will be going for. Still some wear to go though on EddyH's old brakes. :)

I've had the crn discs on 2 different cars now and had no issues with them atall, been good on track days too. Seem to be excellent value

Ninja_alex, did you bother getting the discs zinc coated from CRN ?

No, not really worth it in my opinion

Alex

If you directly ring them up, and ask them the zinc coat them at no extra cost, they normally do :)

CRN grooved discs I believe are basically standard discs for the model/type but they have a grooving (that sounds cool!) machine.

I currently run the 2500 pads and CRN 20 grooved discs with no complains on 312mm.
