Hey, would any know what size the resistor should be on the MAF sensor. It seems mine has fallen off!

Looks like a diode to me.

Have you replaced yours at all?

They dont normally fall off, not all have one fitted however.

No not at all, it just seemed strange the two gold pins had nothing connecting them.

Might be the reason for my cars poor performance……no warning light up though!

Like Lummox said, not all have them fitted, even though they've got the pins there.

Usually petrols and Diesels differ, one has the component one doesnt. However all have the pins.

so has anyone seen the resistor in place whilst cleaning the MAF (Fabia VRS Diesel 56 plate)?

The resistor on the MAF is for air temperature measurement. Most VAG diesels do not have the air temp measurement in the MAF, unlike the petrol engines. The diesel MAF still has the (empty)legs for the fitment of a resistor though.

If you fit a non-resistor type MAF to a car that is supposed to have it, a air temp fault will appear and the EML will illuminate.

We often do nofit components so I shouldn't worry if it's not there.

Amazed they don't surface mount it on the PCB to be honest.
