Hand Brake Problem

I just looking for some advice on this, found that my handbrake would not lock up the back wheels when applied. So they were stripped down cleaned and put back together but I still have the same problem, am now thinking it could be the cable it's self anybody any ideas thanks

When you had them off did you have a look at he cable to make sure when h/brake is applied it moves freely as does the mechanism that applies the h/brake at the back plate.

I recently changed pads in octy mk11 vrs and was advised not to use h/brkae for a wee while until pads had beded in.

You could also see if the cable is being fowled anywhere along its length.

I know ive not given you a this is whats wrong but its worth a wee look

I was told if you apply a bit of pressure on the brake pedal before applying the hand brake then you can get quite a bit more movement on the hand brake lever. Only if you are parking it up though,

Thanks will have a look at the cable when I next have the wheels off weather permitting
