Anybody able to diagnose problem of these symptoms.

My 04 Superbs steering is getting very heavy when it rains, if i go into any flood big or small or even just driving normally, my steering will get really heavy, the battery light will come on for a split second. Then the power sterring will return back to being nearly acceptable again. I had it checked in my local garage recently and he said the alternator shaft was a small bit bent causing the belt to slip. He had this rebuilt at a cost to me of e240, but same thing is happening again.

Any help appreciated

Um, slipping alternator drive belt? ...or is that perhaps too obvious? :lol:

I didn't meant it like that, but I just suspect it might be a little more complicated than my diagnosis :P

its gone back into my mechanic today so hopefully he figures it out! he already sorted the altenator, said the shaft was slightly bent. Go it rebuilt. Im wondering was it done right, is he going do the same thing again and come back and tell me it was something else?
