A week of Furby ownership...

Featured Replies

A week in and i have nothing but praise. A step from PD130 Seat Ibiza isn't huge but the Fabia has so much over it's Spanish cousin.

Lighter more feelsome steering, better interior (seat sport items better than dodgy grey skoda ones), 4 doors!, more refinement, quieter engine, less road noise, and in my eyes better styling (although not in pastel yellow - sorry Joe if you see this!).

As good as the car was standard, the Seat has been remapped so the drop back to 130bhp was a bit of a disappointment.

Hello Jabbasport!!

Email sent, and some of the best responses ever received. Queue day off work and a 2 1/2 hour 150 mile drive from Cheltenham to Crowland for fitment of PD160 intake, green filter, custom remap, and as i was there Jabba RARB.

Must say the journey was definetely worth it!

Was sceptial about the benefits of a custom remap over a generic one carried out more locally (like 15 rather than 150 miles!!) but 100% recommendation from my point of view!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Previous generic remap carried out on the Ibiza was great for troubling traction control with a slap of torque and power but the jabba custom is amazing.

Gives a larger, longer spread of power and torque and gets it all to the road if treated sensibly. Simply brilliant.

Was sceptial about RARB but rave reviews here convinced me to get it done while i was there and again 100% recommendation.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Heavy diesel engine = understeer right? WRONG if you add an RARB!!

Handling is totally transformed. How does that happen?! Surely its "just" a piece of pipe!!!

Who cares! The results are amazing and is money well spent!!

Possible blot to the experience could be diagnosis of front suspension "clonk".

After a short test drive and checking on the ramp was agreed to be worn bushes on the 38k 04 plate.

Having run out of time we couldn't fit replacements to sort it but would get local mechanic friend to fit uprated replacements purchased from webshop once i got home.

Having taken it to above trusted friend, his diagnosis was actually a worn drop link (replacement £12 + mates rates beer tokens rather than £50 Powerflex bushes + £200 jabba labour)

Part is due to be fitted tomorrow so jury is out about who is right until then!!!

Other than that i love my VRs and am so glad i didn't purchase that Renault Clio 182 i test drove or another Ibiza!!

The bank account needs a break before I start looking at bigger brakes, coilovers and wheels; unless someone out there is feeling generous!

Welcome aboard! :)

You have chosen your conveyance wisely.

Great to hear the Furb is meeting and exceeding your expectations.

And top marks for already being au fait with the search facility as is evidenced by your mods/planned mods.
