Odd? Servo went dead, worked again after restart...

Was driving on the freeway and suddenly the servo light went on. The servo was dead (notice leaving the free way). :mad:I continued driving to my destination. Stop the engine, restarded the thing and voila! The servo was back. No warning light. I connected my digital fault reader gadget and no error code.:)

I assume electric. Anyone having an experience of this? I also assume this will happen again soon?:thumbdwn:

I assume that by servo light that you mean the power steeering light. Any faults for it will be stored in the steering controller 44 rather than the engine 01.

The steering is electro hydraulic. A search for power steering faults should give you a lot of information.

This may be similar to something that happened to me on-and-off for a while, and which turned out to be a loose connection on the battery. The cinch nut was tight, but the connector itself wasn't far enough down the (slightly tapered) terminal post on the battery, so was free to move and cause random faults.

Could quite possibly be something else, of course, but it's an easy thing to check and might just save you a trip to the garage!
