Cam Belts

Featured Replies

Hi all just bought a 2001 1.4 16 v fab with fsh and 35,500 miles no mention in service book of a cam belt change, this must have been done on a 7 year old motor do you guys think? or should i get it done like yesterday? also boot light not working bulb ok and wire in place any ideas guys? cheers

My '54 16v 1.4 has just been serviced with 19k on the clock, the CAM belt was not changed but a note on the invoice suggested it should be changed at 4 yearly intervals and the current cost was £245. I spose they thought I'd balk at the cost of the service + the Cam belt (correctly). As yours is coming up to its second 4 year period I'd get it done or at least surveyed.
