Alpine IDA-X200 anygood?

Featured Replies

I currently have a Pioneer unit and ipod control which i'm happy with but i can get the Alpine for a good price and wondered if it easier to control the ipod unit if i have my 60gb ipod in the car.

Does it flick though the albums quickly?

I have the X001 and it's very good at browsing the contents of my iPod (30Gb Video). As the X200 uses the same system, I would expect it to be equally good.

What's the deal on the X200 anyway? PM if you prefer :)

I think they are £95 + VAT.

I've got an X-100 and its the best HU I've ever had. Very intuitive, excellent with iPOD, awesome display, awesome sound... perfect.

Blimey, sounds like a good price. Don't know what the difference between the 100 and 200 is though? Logic says the 200 is better because the number is higher?!

But something is telling me the 200 doesn't have the full colour screen? Would have to search for more info...

With Alpine, the 300 is entry level with less connectivity and functions that the 200/100 offer. The 200 looks similar to the 300 with moer (better?) features whilst the 100 features a colour screen and a better search button.

Ah right, as I suspected - reverse logic :D

My OH has a X100 in her car, and had a X001 in her previous vRS.

If you can get a good deal on the X100, I'd be tempted to stretch for it, as the screen makes the whole thing feel 100% better.

Having said that, functionality wise there is little (if anything) to beat those units for Iplop control.

I've currently got the pioneer 700bt installed, ipod control wise I've been told by friends who have earlier models that it's loads easier to use.
