No side lights

Featured Replies

Noticed today that I have no side lights on my Fabia 1.4 16V Comfort. Rear lights are okay, and the dashboard lights up (I even get the beeping when I open the drivers door with the switch on), but nothing from the front at all. Have both bulbs gone at the same time - is that common? I looked in my user manual for the fuse information but it is not there. I read other threads & saw that the fuse box should be at the end of the dash, hidden by the drivers door. As it's dark, I can't check fuses not bulbs until Thursday morning so I thought I'd ask.

Also, I pranged my wheel when I decided it might be fun to try parking half-way up a kerb (!) and have dented the rim. The tyre is still inflated but is bulging. This wheel is now in my boot instead of my spare (which is on the car in its place). I presume that the rim would not be repairable, and I would have to get another. Any ideas where the best (cheap) place to get this from? I live in Barry and work in Port Talbot (South Wales).

You can get wheels repaired easily enough.....Seen some wheels with bits missing from them and those were repaired perfectly

Not sure about the side lights.........fuse would be a good place to start (obviously when you can see)

You can see the bulbs through the front of the light, if they are black replace them. You've noticed that both of them are not working, but it does not necessarily follow that they have gone at exactly the same time, unless you are checking them daily.

Fuses tend to protect the lights on each side of the car, i.e one fuse will protect the front and rear lights on one side only.

Thanks guys. Just checked the fuses & bulbs today, and it was the bulbs. Now replaced and both working fine.

Also took the rim to the tyre centre, and they said it couldn't be repaired. Took a trip to the local scrappy and they had one that fitted. £20 including a new tyre! I am one very happy person today now.
