Rear interior lights

Featured Replies

Hi All,

is it possible to retro fit some rear interior lights. Now the nights are darker it is harder for my little boy to see getting into the car. the car has a black/dark grey headlining is anything available from the VAG range??

Cheers

They're a VAG part that is also used on the Ford Galaxy and VW Sharan. Mine came from an Ebay supplier in the US. The part number is 1H0 947 291

Looks nice Rob

Is that a standard look in yours, black headlining and then light coloured grab handles?

Steve

No I had dark handles.

I bought the sunglasses holder and was going to paint it to match when someone on Brisky advertised the light grey handles. So I thought I'd give them a try and see how they looked

Just ordered a couple of those interior lights from a UK seller. Will be easy enough to wire up!

Thanks

Nice write-up Rob, and great quality photos

Steve

Cheers :D

I did the same with my superb classic got some from the scrappy without the switches and changed the main front on from an older passat without the red eyes very easy to wire then as well operated from the front then

Cheers guys will have to head over to the scrappy.

Well guys... seems these aren't just suitable for you Octy guys!

Mine arrived today from a seller on ebay and got them fitted this eve.

Have got them wired up so that when the front light is on so are they but obivously they can be turned off if you wish.

You can see them installed here... they're not quite centred due to lack of room behind the roof lining on the centre of the handles.

And here when its dark... they're a bit brighter than the front light and make it a lot easier to see in the car now!

My rear lights came as standard fit on my car and can only be operated by pressing the light to turn it on/off, they don't turn on when the doors open. Creates a problem, kids love pressing buttons and turning lights on/off, after every journey with them in the car I now have to check that the lights are turned off so I don't get a flat battery.

Watch those kiddies

Very nice Phil. Can you come and do mine? :D

Steve

Lol... you provide the wiring and gear along with tea and biccies and i'll supply my expert craft knife abilities! :P
