Fabia fuel beep but no light

Featured Replies

Well, the fuel beeper went off in the new motor tonight - no light came on. In fact, considering the MAF is out, coolant temp sender is on the blink, etc I am quite surpised the engine light is not on. Is there either a way of somehow programming all dash warning lights to stay out, or even worse, a way to split open the dashpod and remove all the lights to stop them coming on?

Somehow I feel the dashpod is going to get split open at the weekend to check!

As another thing - main beam is not working when the stalk is pulled towards you, only away from you - Is this just a case of the indicator assembly having given up?

:bump: Well - the dashpod seems OK so the beep must have been something else. All lights come on. Going to be fitting a new indicator unit as it would appear to me that the reason main beam doesn't work when pulled toward you is because it is fooooooooooooooooooooooooooked! :D

wasnt that the outside temp had reached less than 4 degrees?

Given that there's just two bare wires where my temp sender SHOULD be I don't think it was that. It's possible it beeped for the fuel but it was just sloshing in the tank as I was going around a roundabout at the time.... :o Possibly a little faster than I should on 14" steels and wosname tyres.

Perhaps it was the collision alert?

I was talking to Lummox this afternoon (he did part 1 of my Maxidot dashpod upgrade today) and he mentioned something about having to map out warnings from sensors not present on my car (brake pads was one, I think). It might be worth chatting it through with him as if anyone knows, he will.
