G40 sold - let the VRS hunting begin!

Featured Replies

Just had a guy here this afternoon who spent an hour going over the G40 - decided on a price and shook on it - coming back on Sunday with cash for the car. Even got close to what I wanted for it!!

So I've got £5950 to spend on a VRS - dont know whether to spend the whole lot on the car - ot look for one closer to £5000 and buy a few mod parts (rear ARB and coilovers) - not bothered about a remap, yet. I'll get use to what i've got first then modify slowly!

Seen a couple of cheaper VRS on Autotrader inc this one:-

I know the stickers are a bit brash and the wheels are aweful - dont get me started on the lexus tail lights! Buts its got 70K on the clock on an 04 reg + its onlt £4390!!! Everything its just bolt on parts that can be removed - plus gives me more money left over for decent rims, new tail lights and a decent service.

There is a couple of others that ive looked at on the autotrader site - and i'll not give too much away as the last time i did that some else bought it! ;)

pretty sure this one was on here somewhere before but you can probably sell those wheels quite easily :)

That souns like an ok deal.

Just rip all the tacky stuff off it and your onto a winner.

I'd go for a cheaper one and spend some money making it your own.

Thats what i did, am doing.

Can i ask where you are from?

And what the G40 looked like?

I've found a silver 04 plate with less than 40K on it for just shy of £5000 - quite tempted by this one! ;)

Just had a guy call me up from Scottishvag - and he came down this afternoon and looked over the car - shook on £1950 for it. He's coming back on Sunday with the cash for it. May have found another forum member car forsale for a good price. Just depends on how far away he is! :)

The above pictured fabia has been on the market for quite some time now so you should be looking at less than its up for I would have thought...

i would beet him down...... remind him that moding a motor devalues it. ;) You could get it for 4K I think.

Good luck beating him down (the silver modded one). I went to see it Thursday. I checked he was interested in my car before travelling, and he said yes. Then, when I got there, the screen price was £4995, and he would only part ex against the screen price... So it was a totally derisory offer given the 'trader price - he wanted my car (low milage FIAT Coupe 16v Turbo) and 4 grand. I never even drove it, I just went away again. I was really unhappy with him - what's the point in advertising something at one price, and then putting the price up when someone comes to look at it? It was on the trader 2 weeks ago at £4590, so he's reduced the 'trader price anyway. As far as the car goes, I liked the wheels, but hated the stickers. And there's no service history either.

I got a far better offer, so I'm collecting a different one on Tuesday. :)

Cheers

Cheers for the heads up - a member on here has offered me his 80K one for a good price. Its the right colour too - but he is hundreds of miles away and its a bit difficult for me to get a look at it before buying. I'll be looking around a few once I actually have the ££££ for my G40 and have my full budget inhand!

See what happens from there!

Does it have to be Silver?
