They can't find the receipt and it's just under a year old.

Is it just case of contacting MS and sending it off, if so where can I find the MS XBox contact details.

Retailer might be able to find their transaction and provide one. If it's one of the big chains, it is the kind of thing that gets listed by name and address.

I sent my 22-month old one to MS. Picked up and dropped off by UPS, about a two-week turn around, and it's SO much quieter now!

Same here with mine, had 3 red rings of death..just over 2 years old and with no receipt they picked it up and repaired foc.
