stream radio/columbus fit?

Featured Replies

Well, i've read loads on here, but nothing about the stream radio. I've got a 08 octy vrs, which came fitted with the stream radio. Doesn't matter about the wiring, that will be sorted, but can I remove the stream, and fit a columbus sat nav system directly, no new facias or such like?..Or do i need a new facia ..if so, anybody got a part number or link? Thanks, don't know what i'd do without you lot

The answer to your questions can be found here. Octavia-vRS.com - MFD2 Install Guide

You will need a new fascia but as for the rest then it is plug and play.

You will need to stick the GPS antenna somewhere though, normaly using double sided sticky pads on the alloy crash bar.

Thanks hedge..i'd read that, but it's for mfd2..is it any different for mfd3?

Also, i note there are 2 different part numbers..i've got dual climate control (aluminium) which part would it be ? Could you possibly give me a pic of the part we're talking about ?..sorry, but thicko rules this end :o

It'll be the Climatronic AC in your 08 model (Climatic in my Jan. 07).

So the part number you require is:

1Z0 858 069 L 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium NO PHONE SLOT

All of the various part numbers are listed in a post I made (taken from another post on these forums) available here:

http://briskoda.net/octavia-ii/part-number-request-radio-surround/125543/

You'll almost certainly want the Aluminium over the black and the "No Phone Slot" as I'm assuming there is no phone fitting going on here.

Nope. Thats why I pointed you in that direction.

It has also been done to death on the forum.;)

BTW - I fitted a MFD3 to my 08 octy...No wiring changes required (for the aux in) as I went from a 2008 stream to a 2008 MFD3 and the pin diagrams were the same. Took 30mins.
