I know theres loads of threads about the 312mm conversion but, can someone explain why you need to purchase new calipers?

Ive heard that on early Golf's & current Ibiza's whether its true or not, their 288mm setup dont require the calipers as they're the same, only the carriers and the obvious discs & pads are required :confused:

only golf's, leons and octavia have the correct calipers on the 288mm set up for conversion to the 312mm discs.

Fabia, Ibiza and Polo (possibly A2, who cares anyway?) dont.

Actually has anybody got the VW part numbers for the calipers & splash guards etc?

My local VW dealer are asking for reg numbers
