Hi everyone, I have been a member on here for a few years. I was looking for a Skoda a few years back but things changed and I had to keep my old car. I am now in a position to get a Skoda. Initially I was looking at a MK1 Octavia VRS or Fabia VRS. Now because of where I live, I can't afford the insurance on the MK1 VRS which also rules out the MK2 VRS.

So... I am now looking at either a Fabia VRS or MK2 Octavia 140 TDI Elegance. I just have a couple of questions.

1. Which will have the better performance, not 0-60 but 30-70 etc...

2. Which has the better MPG?

3. Which is the better drivers car?

I am not really too bothered about size so its more about how it drives.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Matt

hi and welcome

Welcome back :)

For me the better drivers car will be the MKII Octavia. Just get a test drive to confirm :)

I've driven both and they're both good cars in their own right. I'd recommend the test drive option. What roads do you use the most?

Hello!:wave23d:

Performance wise they're pretty similar. The Fabia should return slightly better mpg.

As far as driving goes, try both. People on here have differing opinions.

Hi, thanks for the replies, I do a lot of motorway miles. I live in Manchester but work in London a lot. When I am at home I do a lot of town driving. I will definately test drive both though.
