Columbus - too cold to work?!

Featured Replies

Bit of a weird one here guys but Im looking for confirmation on this; does anyone else's columbus not work when its cold in the mornings?!

I leave home around 6.30am and I've noticed on four occasions now the unit starts with the car but the message 'starting system' remains on the screen. On all four occasions its been +4deg or below.

Turning the unit off and on doesnt help (even once the car itself is warmed up nicely) and even restarting the car doesnt cure it. :(

Needless to say, when I go out at lunchtime the system works flawlessly. :o

I can only put it down to external (and internal car) temperatures causing this.

I can live with it but it is annoying on the occasions it has done this and I can only see it doing it more often now the winter is looming. :(

Thanks,

Lee

Via vagcom? Im afraid I dont have access to it so cant confirm this. :(

my sony nw-a3000 mp3 player does the same. it will not work unless it is room temperature or above

No problems with mine, it was below -2c on Sunday mornign and it switched on and worked without any problems as soon as I started the engine.

Sounds like a firmware issue or a solder joint shrinking.

Does anyone know if these things are RoSH 6?
