Car won't start.

Featured Replies

due to the immobiliser. The immobiliser light flashes on the dash. Did it once before but then worked after about 2 minutes. Did it yesterday somebody had top bring me the spare key and then it miraculously worked. Was fine today until just now and it won't evan work with the spare key. I have two keys. The keys with the buttons on that open the doors. Does not fit ignition. An ordinary key which fits in the ignition but nothing else. HELP!

Could be a reader coil problem if its intermittantly giving you problems with more than one key. Need a dealer to take a look at it.

Well it decided to work.

But I'm certain it will happen again.

Is the anyway of totally disable the immobiliser to solve the problem?

Better to get the coil reader fixed.

WELL JUST PICKED MY MATE UP FROM TOWN AND I GOT THEIR FINE BUT THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START WHEN HE GOT IN I WAITED ABOUT 5 MINS AND IT WORKED AGAIN.

is this coil reader cheap and easy to fit?

Will my local garage do it or is it a dealer job?

No need to 'shout' with your capitals, we can read it ok.

You will need to remove the airbag and steering wheel to access the coil reader, so if they are comfortable with that you may be ok. I would suggest a good VAG independant.
