Should my Fabia 2000 1.4 16v have a rev limiter?

Yes it should.

I am sure it should have a rev limiter. But why would you be reving it to 7000rpm+ as I am sure the torque/power curve at that point will be showing a big drop off.

Have you got like a redline on the rev counter??

Not going that far intentionally, just caught my foot harder on it between gear change.
